  We bought a homes from Homes By Avi in November of 2014 in Southwest Edmonton, and would never recommend that anyone purchase from this company.
  
  We had problems right from the start. First of all the sales person was very difficult to deal with, making negotiation nearly impossible with a take it or leave it attitude. The entire sales process was a terrible experience.
  
  However the bigger issues stem from poor workmanship and poor warranty service. The first deficiency with the home was the landscaping which was done terribly, without proper grading or approvals by the city. We were promised by Avi that the issues would be corrected, and only after nearly a year in the home and repeated phone calls and emails did they finally send someone to complete the work. When the work was completed only half the lot was corrected. Some of the work was also done very poorly so I had to correct it myself. It then took another year of follow up and repeated emails and phone calls before they finally got the appropriate city approvals. We were days away from being fined by the City before Avi finally sent the surveyor. Although the city did begrudgingly approve the lot drainage, there are still numerous deficiencies, including areas of inadequate slope and low spots.
  
  Also, after moving in we found out that many of the Avi built homes in the neighborhood had severe basement cracking and heaving issues. For those that had their basements crack within the first year of possession Alberta New Home Warranty forced Avi to replace the basements. For those of us who had their basement fail after the 1 year warranty period we are out of luck. Our basement has heaved over 2 inches, creating large cracks and severally un-level floors throughout the basement. We will now have to spend $5,000+ out of our own pockets to remove and replace the basement floor creating a huge mess in our home in the process.
  
  There are many more warranty deficiencies that we have experienced including severe drywall cracking, defective countertops, improperly installed eaves troughs, poor sealing of exterior doors, closet systems that have fallen off the wall, and the list goes on.
  
  This story is not an isolated one, we know our neighbors very well, and all have had similar experiences with poor workmanship and service.
  
  We are not happy with the quality of home, or the quality of service, and in hindsight would have never purchased from Avi. We recommend you find another builder with better workmanship, and more integrity
